More Details: Talking Call Of Duty – Black Ops

Monday, June 7th, 2010

Blackops-crossbowAussie blog site games.on.net recently interviewed Dan Bunting and Mark Lamia, Senior Producer and Studio Head at Treyarch respectively, to speak about Call of Duty: Black Ops, and they had some light bragging and thoughts for the PS3 fans to mull over for their upcoming FPS opus.

It’s clear from the videos leaked that the developer is aiming quite high with this year’s installment of the hugely popular FPS series, vowing to create “the best game [they] can possibly make”, which is truly saying something given the previous history of the series.

The title will include a big action-adventure component, an online multiplayer – of course - and a specially-crafted cooperative mode and of course, the great scoped crossbow we’ve already seen that people are drooling over. All of that sounds pretty amazing.

Tech aspects are also upgraded and include better animation and better overall graphics quality as well with their ‘texture streaming’ thing incorporated into the game as well. We’re definitely looking forward to this one coming out.

Release Date: Next Call of Duty game announcement

Sunday, May 2nd, 2010

cod71Treyarch’s coming Call of Duty entry, Black Ops (a title much anticipated in the console community) will hit store shelves on November 9th of this year. That’ll put it right into the thick of holiday buying decisions, which was probably the plan to begin with.

This information comes via the official website (just activated recently) for the rumoured Vietnamese-themed FPS. The site itself is sort of short on detail aside from a fast-paced video clip and the date itself, but here’s the official quote from the game makers themselves:

“We at Treyarch are excited to reveal our latest development – Call of Duty: Black Ops! Be sure to head over to CallOfDuty.com/blackops as more details begin to unfold! Follow @JD_2020 and @Treyarch on Twitter for the latest news & discussions regarding Black Ops.”

We’re glad they finally let the cat out of the bag, this one (scheduled to be released for the PS3 on that date) should be pretty breathtaking to play.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 Tips and Tricks

modern warfare 2

modern warfare 2

Ok, I am guessing you have reached this article after being killed many times on Modern Warfare 2. On Modern Warfare 2 you have both good and bad days and even professional players don’t go positive 100% of the time.

Class Setup
Now first we will go over the thing that separates this game from the many FPS games, classes. You can’t go positive if you hate the weapon you are using. Some great classes are;
A Pistol with Tactical Knife and any primary weapon. Perks are Marathon, Lightweight and Commando. If you haven’t unlocked the tactical knife then use the ‘First Recon’ class which has a .44 Magnum with Tactical Knife and Marathon, Lightweight and Ninja. You will unlock the Tactical knife while using this class to knife people. The best maps for this class are the smaller, inside maps.
An Assault Rifle with a Grenade Launcher and perks of One Man Army, Danger Close and Any third perk. With this class you constantly use your Grenade Launcher and once you are empty, use One Man Army to ‘switch’ to the same class. If you haven’t unlocked One Man Army then Scavenger is a good alternative. The Best Maps for this are medium-large maps as you don’t want to get in a close range fire fight with a Grenade Launcher. This will get hate mail though so don’t use it ‘back to back.’
If you understand quick scoping then you could try using the Intervention (preferably with FMJ) along with Sleight of Hand PRO, stopping power and any third perk. A quick Google search will find you videos, tutorials and more on how to quick scope. It all comes with practice and preferably try it in a Private Match with friends. This class is probably the least fool proof although if you get good at quick scoping then you can rack up 30+ kills in a single match. Not to mention if you quick scope on the final kill cam expect a lot of cheers as quick scoping is probably the most eye pleasing kill cam.
Now you have a class set up we need to go over some basic tips that will help regardless of class.

Sound

You must always be looking to your sides and behind you. If you have a high sensitivity then this will help but at the same time if a high sensitivity is hard for you, no point in enabling it!

Leading Contender: PS3 and the new Medal of Honor

Saturday, March 13th, 2010

medalofhonorMedal of Honor is a game that any FPS fanatic has heard of and more than likely played extensively, but now this traditionally World War II based series has made the transition to modern-day warfare, and the lead console for the release is the PS3, which shouldn’t be a shock to anyone familiar with its capabilities.

The new title is boasting some sizzling graphics and features Modern Warfare type game mechanics, which should appeal to a large section of the target audience, indeed.

Medal of Honor (the new version with the modern slant) is scheduled to be released some time later in 2010 (probably around August or so), and will compete against such stalwarts as Bad Company 2 and Call of Duty.

But now the coolest news: At the 2010 Game Developers Conference the producers said that the PS3 is better designed for multiplatform production and it will not only benefit the PS3’s performance, but will put a smile on XBox 360 owners as well. The title is slated to take full advantage of the PS3’s powerful graphics and processor, more so than many other titles made for the platform, according to the designers.

We’re looking forward to this release, needless to say.
