Seven years had passed between the events of the original Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time and its rough-edged sequel The Warrior Within, and now Ubisoft is poised to bring back the acrobatic stylings of the Prince in this chapter of the franchise, which is slated to release May 11, 2010, a few weeks before the Sands of Time movie release on May 28, 2010. Movie tie-ins usually have a history of not being very good, but this one may have a chance to be more, due to the fact it was a game first before it was a movie.

Visually, the new POP game is halfway between the Arabian motif of Sands of Time and the dark and rougher design of The Warrior Within, a combo which the public should enjoy. Based on posts on various forums and sites, the gameplay and animation look pretty darn good, and its only in early beta, according to the latest info released by Ubisoft. We’ll cross our fingers and wait for what should be an amazing looking and playing game.
