Editors Choice: Heavy Rain

Heavy Rain is not your standard video game, and can be described as an interactive story driven triller. The story focuses on the hunt for a serial killer known as the origarmi killer.
You play the game from the viewpoint of four different characters whose lives have been affected by the origarmi killer, such as a private detective on the hunt for his whereabouts. The plot is full of twists and turns, with moments of tensions and emotion drawing you into the game at a more deeper and involving level.
You decide which way a conversation goes, the tone of it, and you can also interact with the surrounding enviroment. Interactive actions include opening a fridge, door, turning the key of the key, to using an inhaler. Even the SixAsis controller has been put to good use, as you wiggle it for getting our of bed, or flick it to avoid an oncoming car.
The graphics, animations and character models are absolutely stunning. Whether you're playing frisbee in the park with your son, or strolling through a busy shopping centre, it feels like you're walking through a cut-scene. The emotion on the faces of the character models leaps out of the screen, and even the rain that buckets down persistently plays its part in creating the sombre, dream-like atmosphere that runs through the veins of Heavy Rain.
If you want to try something a little different this year, try Heavy Rain. Love it or hate it you won't fail to be impressed by its creativity, vision, high production values and clever story-telling.
